Sure On This Shining Night (Lauridsen)
One of my favorite choral settings. I'm so glad we have a chance to share
Attached to this post are two files: the first, a stunningly good recording of the entire Cantata, BWV 29, as performed by the Netherlands Bach Society. The Opening Chorus that we are singing starts at the 4:00 mark. The first movement, the Sinfonia, will be played along with it. The two movements together make a stunning combo, I do say. The whole work is stunning, a real stroke of inspiration, as only we have come to expect from Bach's work.
The second link is from CyberBass, a wonderful online resource for choral music. From this page, you can listen to digital tracks of each of the voice parts, or all four together and balanced. It is a really nice reference to have to continue to work on this rather intricate masterpiece. I hope you find it helpful!
